Othello 5 Volume 5 is kinda episode-like, so don't wonder ^^;. Megumi is out with a boy for bungy jumping and she is all girly and mentions how high she is. Then she changes her expression and just jumps down the bright, saying "I'll defeat you, Nana". When she is done with jumping, she remembers how Yaya said she's afraid of high places, and suddenly has an idea. Meanwhile Yaya is at a park with Moriyama and she is still down because Megumi said that she is Nana. Yaya asks Moriyama if that's true, but she suddenly changes into Nana. Nana asks Moriyama out on a date and he says no. Nana says if she would ask as Yaya now, he would say yes and Moriyama answers yes, but she's Nana now, so the answer is no. Nana mentions they are the same person anyway ^^; On the next day at school, Yaya thanks Moriyama again for his help but he says it's okay. Megumi suddenly comes up and apologizes to Yaya for what happened on the rooftop and Yaya is kinda touched. She askes her to wait for her at the school ground this night and Yaya says okay. Yaya is waiting for Megumi at night when suddenly a foreigner is coming up behind her and tells her not to scream. He asks if she is Yaya Higuchi and says he'll bring her to Megumi. He points up to the sky, where Megumi is standing on a helicopter's ladder. She says if Yaya wants to break the contract (the one she signed in vol 4), she has to come up. Yaya doesn't want to go, but the foreigner takes her and steps on the ladder. Yaya is really afraid of highs and starts to cry. In the helicopter, Megumi mentions the deal, they are both jumping out of the helicopter and Megumi has the contract in her hands. If Yaya manages to get the contract from her, she's the winner and free. Yaya is really down and doesn't know what to do. Yaya tries her best to not have to jump and screams around, but they push her out of the helicopter. Megumi herself jumps with the foreigner behind Yaya. Yaya screams she really doesn't know anything about Nana and she wants Megumi to believe her, but Megumi says she and Nana are the same person. Yaya falls deeper and suddenly loses consciousness. Megumi and especially the foreigner are shocked about that. But of course, she transforms into Nana and (which happens on like 20 pages, but I want summarize this exactly) manages to take the contract from Megumi, but while they are fighting over the contract, Nana accidentally knocks the foreigner out and Megumi freaks out, 'cause it's about time to open the parachute. Nana let's Megumi wait a little and then opens the parachute for her. Nana takes the contract and destroys it happily. Back on the ground Megumi is really done and screaming at the foreigner. Nana says to him Megumi enjoyed the jump so much, she would like to fly with the helicopter again, so they get in. Nana asked them to let her get out on the school's rooftop and while she is standing at the ladder she asks Megumi to give her money back ( remember, Yaya/Nana had to work to pay Megumi money back). Nana says "mission complete" and leaves the helicopter, landing on Moriyama. Okay, now I won't summarize the next chapter 'cause I really don't find it very interesting. It's called "Nana against a woman's enemy" and it's about Yaya who observes two perverts at the underground, who are molesting women and filming under their skirts, and later becomes a victim herself. And of course it's Nana who manages to catch the perverts. It doesn't have a lot to do with the story of Othello and there is only Nana/Yaya of the normal cast in it, so let's leave it out, okay. But I found the cover of this chapter pretty cute, so I scanned it. Othello goes on with Black Dog's concert and of course Yaya is there too. She's watching Moriyama and thinks that he is very cool. Two punks next to her , who don't seem to be Black Dog fans, make trouble and Yaya accidentally spills her drink over one guy's head. He's about to freak out when he sees Yaya's backstage sticker. It turns out those are guys Nana and Moriyama already had trouble with and they are Yaya to come out with them and get closer to her. Yaya doesn't know how to break free and while she's transforming into Nana, a girl comes to rescue her and they punch the guys at the same time. The girls are both a little surprised when they look at each other and Nana thinks, seems to be like her (don't 100% sure here how to translate this , Nana thinks "Atashi mitai na hito…?" which can be translated as "A person like me", but it might also be "This person looks like me". Not too sure what's correct here, can anybody help?). Nana gets hit by a fans arm and changes back into Yaya and thanks her for helping her. The girl want to high five with Yaya, but of course Yaya had no idea about what happened, and so the girl is kinda confused too ^^; Black Dog is playing more songs and Yaya is looking at the girl, smiling at her while the girl is smiling at the stage (and Moriyama that is). Yaya is walking on the streets with Black Dog after the concert and mentions how cool her first evening as a real staff member was when she realizes she forgot somethings, so she goes back to the club with Moriyama. Yaya feels bad, that she kept Moriyama from drinking with the other members because he came with her, but afterwards the two of the go to a bridge and drink. Moriyama is singing loudly and says Yaya should do this too. Yaya remembers the times when kids called her a show-off because of her voice and thinks she doesn't want to sing. Moriyama says Yaya has to sing, so even in space they can hear her, so Yaya finally takes breath and sings. She really has fun with Moriyama. Yaya tells Moriyama a little about choir and so one when Moriyama suddenly says "let's go in". They arrived the park, where they went with class after their first year ended. Moriyama is climbing up the fence and reaches his hand to Yaya to help her getting inside the park and Yaya takes it. They go to the boats and Moriyama tells her to get in , but Yaya says no, because if a couple gets in they will break up… and then realizes what she just said ^^; but it seems as if Moriyama didn't hear her comment, so she gets in. The pond at night is really pretty and Yaya is looking at Moriyama. He suddenly says her song touched him at heart and Yaya takes it as a joke, but Moriyama has a really serious look on his face. Yaya starts to cry which makes Moriyama a little nervous, but she just says "thank you". She thinks whenever she needs to hear something that makes her feel better, Moriyama is here to say it. On the next day, the other members comment on how close Moriyama and Yaya suddenly look. Later, Yaya is selling tickets, when the black haired girl, who helped to save Yaya before comes and greets her. Later during the concert, Yaya is standing in the last row and is disappointed that she can't see Moriyama, and the other girl is looking at her and smiling. After the concert, Moriyama wonders where the rest of the band went, when he and Yaya see a really stupid message by them, concerning the two of them. Yaya blushes furiously and still is nervous as they enter the elevator. She drops Black Dog's flyers because she is so nervous and starts picking them up again. Moriyama is looking at her. He suddenly puts his arms around her and says "Yaya, I…." (in Japanese he says "Yaya, ore…" the way how confessions often start) when the door opens and the black haired girl is standing in front of them. Moriyama is staring at her, the girl is running up to him and hugs him. What is Sanae thinking about Othello vol 5? I found the beginning pretty lame and chapter 3 wasn't that exciting eighter, but chapter 4 totally made up for it. I loved the Moriyama-Yaya interactions there, finally more romance in Othello ^_^ The black haired girl is probably his ex girlfriend, so we'll have a love rival now. Don't really like love rivals, except of another boy who has a crush on the main gir, but I hope for a good storyline in Othello 6 anyway.
