Kare First Love 5 I'm really in a hurry, so the summary of Kare FL 5 will be quite short this time. So sorry! :( Karin and Kiriya are falling on Karin's bed while they are still kissing. Kiriya starts removing his shirt and Karin looks a little anxious. Karin stops him and says she feels insecure and she doesn't want him to look at her body. Kiriya asks her if she feels a little excited and she says she does and Kiriya says his feelings are the same, his heart is really beating, so they continue kissing and Kiriya touches Karin everywhere and she thinks it feels strange. Suddenly Kiriya stops and says they have a problem, he has no condom and he looks really down ^^; Karin then remembers that Ayase gave her a condom and she shows it to Kiriya. Kiriya looks a little surprised, then they continue what they were doing (Ayase saved the day! ^_^) After both are almost disturbed by Karin's mum, they finally sleep with each other, but Karin doesn't feel good at all, she thinks what they are doing is real scary and it hurts a lot. Kiriya then realizes that he didn't care about karin's feelings at all and he apologises to her. A little while later they exchange their Christmas present and Kiriya seems to like his. Karin got a perfume (in vol 1, Kiriya saw her looking at it back when they just got to know each other) and earrings. Later Kiriya wants to leave again but Karin begs him to stay, so they are sleeping together in her bed and Kiriya has a hard time …well… not to lose control ^^; On the next day Karin meets up with Ayase in a bar and they talk about their first time (Karin also wants to know if it also hurt when Ayase had sex for the first time). Ayase congratulates Karin to her first experience. Later at home, Karin goes to her sister and asks her if making holes in your ear hurts. She answers a little and Karin asks if "this" (meaning first sex) also normally hurts but then she blushes and changes the topic (this is really cute ^_^). Later Karin and Kiriya have a date and Kiriya asks if it's all right for her father that they are out and Karin says she's allowed until 9 o'clock. Kiriya suddenly starts kissing her and asks her to come with him, they can continue there. Karin thinks coming to his room means having sex, so she says she doesn't want to. To put it short they start fighting and they are saying the opposite doesn't understand etc etc and everything turns into a pretty ridiculous fight and they and up being mad at each other (but they are still holding hands^^). Both aren't in the best mood after that and they keep writing each other sms with contents just as "baka" and so on, but both think that they love each other very much. On the next day Kiriya gets a call from Shouko while he's at a convenient store. She says he has to look into a photograph magazine and so he does. We don't see the picture but it says the winner is Kiriya Aoi. He has a very excited look on his face. Kiriya runs to Karin's evening school to tell her about this, but he sees Karin leaving with Hiromu. On the next day, Karin's dad wants to take a picture with his family, but the camera doesn't really work, so they decide to go to a professional photographer. (Of course) it's the place where Kiriya works and all 4 of them (Kiriya, Karin, her dad and her mum) are pretty shocked/ unhappy (I'm wondering here, does Karin's sister know about Kiriya?). Kiriya checks the camera and Karin's father is looking a little impressed. He sees a poster where they offer clothes for taking professional pictures and Karin's father decides ,that's what they want to do, so he sends Karin with kiriya to prepare for the picture. Both don't look very happy. Karin comes back in her Kimono and she's looking really beautiful and Kiriya is staring at her. He then tries to act unimpressed and helps Karin (I LOVE his expression in this one panel!). Karin's father keeps looking at them. He talk to the owner of this shop and they mainly talk about Kiriya. He also shows Karin's father the picture Kiriya won the contest with. It's a picture of Karin, while she's playing the piano (this was taken during the festival at Karin's school (vol 4). Karin comes and also sees the picture, she is surprised and also touched. Suddenly Karin's father says he wants Kiriya to take the picture of his family and Karin and Kiriya are surprised. The owner says it's okay and Karin's dad says he's only satisfied with a great picture^^. Then Karin's father wants Kiriya to take a picture with the family, but Kiriya says he isn't part of the family, but Karin's dad says he really wants to, so Karin and Kiriya have to stand next to each other. They can't concentrate at all, so the owner says they shouldn't look at the floor but into the camera and Karin's dad's face gets a strange expression ^_^ (he's the greatest!). After everything is done, Karin's father asks Kiriya to come with him for a while. Outside the shop. I cannot really understand what Karin's father says in the first sentence ( I cannot read this word, it's 4 kanji long, so without knowing them the sentence doesn't make much sense), but I know they are talking about Karin. It seems as if her father finally realized that Kiriya is a good guy and gives in. (this is actually a pretty amusing scene. It's your typical father- daughter's boyfriend conversation ^^). Kiriya says Karin is the most important person for him (aaaaw!). Sorry I'll really put it short now, Karin and Kiriya make up afterwards and he helps her getting her holes for the earrings. Then they decide to make a little trip to take pictures. They have a great day and Kiriya takes lots of pictures of Karin. When they want to go back by train they realize that no train is going, so they have to walk. Suddenly it starts raining, but luckily a hotel is very close: Hotel "Make Love" ^^; (Their faces are priceless!). They decide they have no other choice, so they go into the hotel, but the mood isn't the best. Kiriya says he'll call Shouko to pic them up. They are sitting down on the bed and Kiriya starts touching Karin's face, but she isn't looking comfortable, so he removes his hand. Karin later realizes she's lost one of her ear piercing, so she rushes out in the rain to get it. She almost gets hit by a Shouka's car. Kiriya comes after Karin, but a young man already picked her up. Karin is staring at him and blushing a little (O_o) and wonders who he is. Kiriya recognises him, he is the famous photographer Takagi Shinji. Shouko and Takagi-san bring them to a more serious hotel. Takagi-san, Kiriya and Shouko talk about pictures so Karin feels a little left out, but Takagi-san comes to talk to her. Kiriya sees them and doesn't look happy. He goes to Karin and says they'll go to their room now, so he drags her away. Karin's piercing falls down (heaven knows where it has been all the time) and Takagi-san picks it up. *skipping pages* Karin and Kiriya share a room and Karin gets closer to Kiriya. At first he welcomes it ,but then he stops and says they don't have to do it now. Karin seems happy, she has the feeling that he really cares about her. On the last half page, we see Takagi-san holding Karin's ear piercing in his fist and smiling. What is Sanae thinking about Kare First Love volume 5 Great volume, really. I really enjoyed this one, due to several reasons: 1) Their first time ^^; I don't mean it like "Yay, smut!", but Miyasaka-sensei drew this so realistic. Normally when a couple has sex for the first time in a Shoujo Manga, they are surrounded by flowers and everything is beautiful and great and so on, but get to think of it, how many couples in real life enjoy their first time like this. Not many! I really liked the idea of them having a not so good time (sounds kinda cruel), because it's simply more realistic. 2) The storyline at the photo store with Karin's father. I Didn't like him at all in volume 4, but in volume 5 he was just too cool ^_^ and 3) love rival, love rival! Takagi-san is an asshole, but at least we have a love rival. I'm happy that Kiriya got a love rival and not Karin. It's so typical for Shoujo Manga, that another girl appears, who falls for the male protagonist, so this is something new.
